What is our Clinical Research Support Office?

  1. What is our Clinical Research Support Office?
Our Clinical Research Support Office was established in 2022 to support and promote clinical research conducted by each of our healthcare providers as a hospital-wide effort. This support office addresses the following three main goals:

Supporting the development of a research implementation system:

The office will support researchers in developing the structure and processes for conducting clinical research and facilitating the smooth progress of their studies. This includes the entire process from planning to implementation, data collection, analysis, and reporting. We also provide networking opportunities to connect researchers with each other.

Education and dissemination:

We strive to educate and disseminate information about clinical research to make it easier for healthcare providers and other stakeholders to participate in clinical research. This will promote the importance of clinical research and encourage participation in research activities.

Individual research support (consultation):

We provide a forum where healthcare providers and researchers can discuss specific research projects and offer advice on planning and conducting research. Individualized research support is critical to both the researcher's growth and the research's quality.

Clinical research is essential to healthcare providers as a means to identify and solve problems in the field. It improves patient safety and quality of care by identifying problems in the field early, developing solutions, and sharing them with colleagues and society.

With the rapid spread of innovative medical technologies and the aging of the population in today's medical field, it is important for medical professionals to be able to identify problems at an early stage. By utilizing clinical research techniques, the existence of potential problems can be revealed, their importance can be assessed, problems can be made known to colleagues and society, and appropriate countermeasures can be proposed and evaluated. In turn, this contributes to protecting patient safety and limiting the loss of society's resources.

However, technologies for clinical research are rapidly evolving, and methods for collecting medical information continue to change. Our Clinical Research Support Office helps healthcare professionals who continue to contribute to patients and the field to benefit from new technologies related to clinical research when needed and to provide information to colleagues and society in an appropriate and timely manner.
